Postgraduate Degrees

studentsAfter successful completion of the Masters degree, selected students will be given the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. The postgraduate degree is extremely well organized by all institutes in the Faculty of Business and Economics. Through regular meetings and faculty symposiums, professional exchange amongst the doctoral canditates is encouraged and stimulated.

In 2004, the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS Econ) was established as a research institute in North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) for postgraduate studies in the field of economics. It is 1 of 17 NRW Graduate schools, a programme which started in 2008. These Graduate Schools provide young researchers with the opportunity to follow their doctoral studies as members in leading research teams at the various universities in North Rhine Westphalia. The Ruhr Graduate School in Economics offers an education at the highest international level. RGS Econ is a collaborative project of the Ruhr Metropolis University Partnership, which consists of the University of Bochum, TU Dortmund, University of Duisburg- Essen and the Rhine Westphalia Institute for Economic Research. The main research areas include theoretical modelling and the econometric analysis of real economic problems. Postgraduate students of the RGS Econ come from all over the world and are provided with a full scholarship during their three year course of study (our webpage on RGS Econ)
