URI Chair welcomes a new team member

Maren

07.10.2019 – The URI Chair is happy to introduce a new member of our research team. Maren Kaliske joined the URI Research team as a doctoral student and is part of the first cohort of the Research Training Group "Regional Disparities and Economic Policy”. She just recently graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland with a MSc in Economics. Within her PhD and the topic of regional disparities, she wants to focus on regional and urban development, digitisation, international trade and political economy.

 

9th European Workshop of Applied Cultural Economics

EWACE 2019

13.09.2019 – The URI research team participated in the 9th European Workshop of Applied Cultural Economics on 5-7 September 2019 at the Copenhagen Business School. Christiane Hellmanzik, Lukas Kuld, and Sara Mitchell each presented new research papers highlighting their innovative datasets on UK and US authors. Vanessa Hellwig also attended as a participant. In addition, Christiane and Sara both served as sessions chairs, and Christiane also served as a member of the organising committee.

 

Call for Applications: Doctoral Research Positions

16.05.2019 – We are pleased to announce a Call for Applications for doctoral research positions in economics in "Regional Disparities and Economic Policy."
We offer at least 7 fully-funded doctoral research positions (75% TV-L E13, 3 years with the possibility of continuation funding) for the first cohort of students to enter in October 2019. The application deadline is 30 June 2019.

16.05.2019 – We are pleased to announce that Dr. Christiane Hellmanzik's paper "Relationships between artistic movements and careers of modern artists: evidence from hedonic regressions with auction data" (co-authored with Douglas Hodgson) has been published in the Journal of Cultural Economics. The article is available online at: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10824-019-09343-6.

14. März: Forschungstag im Landtag NRW

08.03.2018 – Das URI Team macht am 14.3. einen Forschungsworkshop am Landtag in Düsseldorf. Wir werden an diesem Tag unsere aktuellen Forschungsprojekte vorstellen, diskutieren und voran bringen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den Vorhaben der Doktoranden, die ihre ersten Forschungspapiere konzipieren. Im Anschluss werden wir die Gelegenheit nutzen und den Landtag besichtigen.

04.03.2018 – Christiane ist im wissenschaftlichen Komitee der Konferenz und wird ihre gemeinsame Arbeit mit Roland Füss (Universität St. Gallen) präsentieren: "From afternoon to evening: price dynamics and bidding behaviour in evening auctions for fine art"

 

14./15. Mai: X. Internationaler Fordert-Kongress Junge Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft

04.03.2018 – Lukas und Christiane nehmen am X. Internationalen Förder-Kongress Junge Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zum Thema "Europa neu (er)finden im digitalen Zeitalter? Freiheit, Wohlstand und europäische Integration" der Hanns Martin Schleyer-Stiftung in Berlin teil.
