JProf. Dr. Nadine Georgiou

JProf. Dr. Georgiou has joined the TU Dortmund as an assistant professor for Accounting & Finance in December 2016.

She holds a PhD in Accounting from the Freie Universität Berlin (PhD-Supervisor: Prof. Dr Jochen Bigus). Before, she worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Chair of Management Accounting at the Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) and at the Chair of Financial Accounting at the University of Bern (Switzerland). She studied Business Administration at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Germany) and the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano (Italy). From 2010 to 2016, she was a visiting scholar of the Deutsche Bundesbank (German Central Bank). In 2015, she has completed a research stay at the University of Queensland (Australia). From February to September 2018 she was an interim professor for International Accounting and Auditing at the TU Dortmund University.

In several internships she gained professional experience in the area of group accounting and project controlling as well as tax consultancy.

Her research has been financially supported by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft - German Research Foundation), the Mercator Research Center Ruhr (MERCUR) and the Förderkreis Accounting & Finance Dortmund e.V.

 

Memberships

JProf. Dr. Georgiou is member of the European Accounting Association (EAA), the American Accounting Association (AAA), the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB) and the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft (SG).

The research of JProf. Dr. Georgiou focuses inter alias on the following topics:
